The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in the Plaza starting at 7 p.m. and will remain exposed throughout the Mass.

Pilgrimages

We recommend that you call your nearby parish for information about pilgrimages. Many parishes organize pilgrimages and travel in groups to the Shrine. You can also gather with friends and family and make your pilgrimage to the Shrine. For large pilgrimage groups, we ask that you call our main office to register. Come walking, running, by bike, bus, or car; Our Lady of Guadalupe awaits you and welcomes you with open arms!

What time can I visit our
Lady of guadalupe?

The Celebrations in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe begin with the opening Mass on December 11 at 8 p.m. in the Plaza. The celebrations end with the closing Mass on December 12 at 7 p.m. in the St. Joseph Chapel. You can visit us at any time, as the Plaza remains open for all who wish to visit Our Lady of Guadalupe. Upon arrival, all pilgrims are welcomed with a blessing from a priest or a deacon.

Is there a cost?


There is no cost to attend the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. A parking fee is charged for parking on the Shrine grounds. Please refer to the parking section below for more information.

Spiritual Services


Masses and Rosaries are held every hour during the celebrations to Our Lady of Guadalupe. There will be confessions on Thursday, December 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Marian Chapel. This is a spiritual experience; please cooperate with all the staff and respect all the rules of the Shrine.

Due to limited parking on the Sanctuary grounds, there is a $15 fee per vehicle to park on the Sanctuary grounds. This fee helps facilitate traffic flow and contributes to the financial support of the Sanctuary during the Guadalupan Festivities. Below are the hours during which parking fees will be charged at the Shrine:
- From 4:00 p.m. on December 11 until 3:00 a.m. on December 12.
- From 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on December 12.

The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe has several remote parking areas that are free and open to the public.

St. Emily Parish
1400 E. Central Rd, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056
Parking will be available from 8:00 p.m. on December 11 until 6:30 a.m. on December 12. It will then reopen from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on December 12.

Plaza Palwaukee
664 Milwaukee Ave, Prospect Heights, IL 60070
Parking will be available from 4:00 p.m. on December 11 until 3:00 a.m. on December 12. It will then reopen from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on December 12.

Oakton Community College
1600 East Golf Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016
Parking will be available from 9:00 p.m. on December 11 until 4:00 a.m. on December 12. It will then reopen from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on December 12.

Bus services will be available starting on December 11 at 6:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. on December 12. These bus services are for transporting people to the Shrine from the remote parking areas.

Lodging is available for pilgrims who visit the Shrine during the feast. Below, you will find a list of hotels and accommodations offering special discounts for pilgrims.

Rules

We are ready to welcome hundreds of thousands of pilgrims this year! To ensure that everyone has a good experience, we ask all pilgrims to be respectful and adhere to the following:

No alcohol

At the Shrine, a healthy and spiritual environment is promoted by avoiding the consumption and possession of alcohol.

No weapons

Security and peace are maintained by prohibiting the possession of any type of weapon on the property.

No propaganda

The property promotes an environment free of propaganda, focusing on maintaining a positive and respectful experience for all.

No distribution

For the safety of all, the distribution of food, drinks, or religious items is not allowed.

No drones

For safety reasons, drones are not allowed on the property.

No pets

To maintain an orderly and comfortable environment, pets are not allowed on the Shrine grounds. Registered Service Dogs are allowed with visible identification.
